Had I been born in Kentucky, perhaps those lovely thoroughbreds would have been my fascination. But as a boy growing up in rural Northern Michigan, one supreme animal existed - the Whitetail. Whitetails represented majesty and myth, exhilaration and suspense, with an ample portion of frustration and exercise thrown in as well. The folklore and fraternity that surrounded the annual season amplified our family's entire year with opening day a sacred event. The seed that grew to become Sanctuary is rooted in that beloved family tradition.

Unfortunately, the great bucks of the north, like those that graced my grandfather's walls had become rare indeed. The vision that we sought was a fantasy. To hunt those giant bucks once again in a trophy environment without equal, that is the dream we created.

Sanctuary has become synonymous with "the ultimate" in Whitetail management and yet our destiny still unfolds. Although we shall always remain unequaled, the outer limits of this endeavor still are clouded in mystery. Our goal "to seek all that is possible" remains our mission and in doing so our horizons continue to expand.

The satisfaction we find in trophy management would be incomplete without the hunter. We have been privileged to host some of the best - serious connoisseurs and ardent aficionados. All have played a part in our success. Through their appreciation, our pleasure is enhanced at every encounter. Each majestic Whitetail sighted provides memories savored for years to come and those bucks that are harvested provide satisfaction and significance.
